In the fall of 2009, the Sarasota Partnership for Children’s Mental Health gathered a number of leaders from local not-for-profit organizations, community volunteers and family representatives to develop a community-wide, collaborative early childhood Web site. These organizations came together with a shared vision of Sarasota as a community where all children are happy, healthy and thriving.
This Web site has been a long-term goal of many community members, emerging from the United Way Success By 6® and Early Learning Coalition’s Whole Child Project survey, which recognized the need for a more community-based, family focused approach of engaging an increasingly-diverse population of families with young children.
Sarasota is a community rich with family- friendly resources, entertainment and activities. This Web site, with emphasis on local programs, services, and resources, will help parents who have questions – no matter how simple or complicated – get answers. The site will be managed by a team of local organizations, focused on early child development, and hosted by the Early Learning Coalition of Sarasota County.
We invite you to explore the different sections of the site and see all that Sarasota has to offer.
